Closed Traverse Bearing Adjustment
Balance angular closure, find adjusted directions, and inspect an approximate traverse.
Adjustment results
Equal precision is assumed for all angles. The best line is a relative reference; reciprocal agreement alone does not establish an absolute bearing free from local attraction.Note on the bearing example
The reciprocal midpoint for DE is S 12°15' W: average S 13°00' W with the reversed back bearing S 11°30' W. Adding 45' instead would increase the discrepancy. This tool applies the signed midpoint correction.

Azimuths are clockwise from the named meridian. South-based values match the convention in the first example.
